

Born September 12, 1930 in Indianapolis,Indiana he was the son of Vora Mae (Reese) Brahaum and Albert C. Brahaum. He temporarily served in the U.S. Army until it was determined he was just 15 years of age. Also in his younger years he was employed as a concrete truck driver, then a chauffeur at the Job Corps at Camp Atterbury. In 1968 he switched careers and became a deputy sheriff with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department where until retiring in 1992. After retirement he worked as a security officer, first at the Monroe County Justice Building in Bloomington and later at the Bloomington Hospital until finally retiring in 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Mask) Brahaum, of Nashville, his children; Steve (Donna) Brahaum of Nashville, IN, Robyn (John) Hutchison, of Unionville, IN, Jeff (Jennifer) Brahaum, of Brooklyn, IN, Melissa (Steve) Wallace, of Bloomington, IN, Michael (Diane) Peaslee, of Morgantown, IN, Randy (Bonnie) Peaslee, of Columbus, IN, Mike (Tina) Aycock, of Nashville, IN and Denise (Greg) White, of Nashville, IN, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents and sisters, Alberta Wamsley and Patricia Finch.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville with Earl Piper officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery in Brown County. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
