Al was born in Nashville, TN on May 3, 1928 to the late William P. Regen, Jr., and Lucile Wood Regen. He attended West High School and received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He owned and operated a tool and die shop, Dart, Inc., which designed and built custom metal stamping dies to produce parts for various industries within the southeast. His company manufactured over 300 record pressing machines which produced vinyl records. He started the business October 25, 1963 and retired after 25 years to the day.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Harrison Regen.
Survived by his children, Patricia R. (David) Ingram, and Sharon Regen; two grandchildren, Jan (Adam) Masterson and Steve (Lizzy) Ingram; one great-grandson, Milo Ingram; brother, William P. Regen, III;, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at Belmont United Methodist Church, where he was a lifelong and faithful member, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm followed by a Memorial Service in the sanctuary at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Harbison-Jesse Rustin Fellowship class at Belmont United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
