Alice Mae Metelka, age 92, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday June 13, 2020. Alice was born February 8, 1928 in Gary Indiana to George Axel and Martina Olivia Matson.

Mrs. Metelka was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and was in the order of Eastern Star. She graduated from Frobel High School. She was a Oral Surgeon Assistant for Ladd & Schmidt. She also worked at JC Penny and Sears in the sales department.

She is preceded in death by Husband Robert Carl Metelka. Brothers Harry and Harold Matson. Sisters Ruth Sherrington, Violet Iverson and Rose Jandura Keneson.

Survived by Sons Richard (Lee) Metelka, Carl (Beth) Metelka and Wayne Metelka.

Grandchildren Robert (Sally) Metelka, Kyle (Megan) Metelka, Frank (Sarah) Metelka, Erin (Matt) Ramsey, Brittany (Mike) Bruce, Trisha (James) Seagle, Drew (Alanna) Metelka and Paige (Heather) Metelka.

Great Grandchildren Aubrey, Holden and Sylvia Metelka. Hunter Bruce. Cheyenne Metelka. Ellis and Adaline Seagle. Amelia Metelka.

Celebration of life will be held 1 pm Saturday at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home with Rev Rick Roberts officiating. Visitation with family Friday from 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 11 am till time of service . Interment to be held at Mt Olivet Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St Jude place Memphis TN or St. Johns Lutheran Church Nashville Rebuilding Fund 3259 McGavock Pike Nashville TN.

She was like a second mother to me. I remember her and her husbands Friday night trips to shoneys, worrying about me and if I was eating enough. Raising 3 boys I’m sure made her the tough lady that she was. She left a legacy with many people and I know her entire family will miss her deeply.
