

He was a lifelong Nashvillian and served in the United States Army for four years. He graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University then proceeded to work at Nashville Electric for nearly 40 years. Allen enjoyed going on his annual fishing trips and dancing, which always lead him to try to one up himself. He seemed to succeed at every endeavor he put his mind to. He also served in leadership roles with many charitably agencies.
Winston was preceded in death by his parents; Frances Taylor Smith and Allen Winston Smith Sr. and wife Susie Mayberry Smith.
He is survived by his siblings; Rachel (Mike) Potts, Elizabeth (Joe) Hobbs, Melanie (Mike) Martin, Kevin (Carolyn) Smith, his nieces and nephews; Fran (Jerry) Matthews, Melissa (Bobby) Ciccolella, Mitch (Jessica) Martin, Caitlin (Walter) Purnell, Alison Dodson, Megan (Daniel) Von Hopffgarten, Logan Smith, other many great nieces and nephews; cousin, Barbara Carlton; companion, Tara Latham and special friends; Brenda Martin, Chellie Ising, Micah Ising and family.
The family would like to thank Caris Healthcare, all the caregivers and Father Hung Pham for being there is Winston’s final days.
A public graveside service will be conducted by Father Hung Pham and held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Following the graveside services, a reception for family and friends at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
