

Born July 20, 1926 to Clepper and Rachael Watson. Born to eternal life on January 24, 2018.
Connie was the last surviving of 12 siblings, brothers; William, Dan, Bud (Rosie), Joe (Mavis), Davis (Janie) Watson. Sisters; Alice (Ridley) Davis, Rosemary (Gaston) Gregory, Rachel (Ed) Gleeson, Theresa (Clyde) Davis, Winifred (Earl) McKenzie, Anne (Buddy) Willis. Proceeded in death by son Cliff Gillespie.
Survived by daughter, Rita Raymer, son Gerry (Kim) Gillespie, daughter-in-law, Gayle Gillespie. Grandchildren Matthew (Mary Elizabeth) Gillespie, Michael Gillespie, Lauren (Kelly) Agee, Brian (Heather) Gillespie, Marion Gillespie, Christie (Chris) Long, Jeff (Rosey) Raymer, Rachael (Mike) Egger, Leigh (Robert) Manning. Great Grandchildren, Holt, CariBeth, Ella, George, Kaiden, Lillie, Cate, Laura, Matthew, Rebekah, Caitlyn, Elsie, Mac and Patrick. Great-great granddaughter, Nora. Also Survived by brother-in-law, Clyde Davis, numerous beloved nieces, nephews and special friend/care-taker, Mike Mitchell.
Connie graduated from Cathedral High School in 1944. In her early career she was a home-maker and bowling instructor at Melrose Lanes. She was a dedicated employee for the Kroger Deli Merchandising Department for many years, known to many as “Ms. Connie”.
She was a devout Catholic, an active member of Christ the King and St. Edward Parishes. She loved “her” Atlanta Braves, enjoyed going to the casino and horse races. She loved cooking meals for her friends and family and anyone who stopped by, especially her mailman Doug and “the Father Breens”. She took great pride in sharing stories about her children and grandchildren. Most importantly, she was a woman of great faith and had a great devotion to her family and all who have been blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held at Marshall Donnelly Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church on Saturday at 12 noon celebrated by Rev. Joseph Breen and Rev. Bill McKenzie. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
