HARDING, ALICE ANN RHODES of Nashville, TN passed peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Born in 1931 in Navasota, TX, Ann graduated college with a BA in English from Florence State, now UNA, after which she married Jack K. Rhodes, then residing in Nashville, TN to start and raise her family. During her time in Nashville, she was an active volunteer in social and art circles, to include The Children’s Theater, where she was known by many children as Trouper the Clown. Ann was also one of the initial organizers of the Trees of Cheekwood which has become an annual Nashville Christmas tradition. Continuing her love of design, Ann designed and owned The Lemon Tree in Franklin TN. After spending most of her retirement years in Florida, she relocated to Sheffield AL before returning to Nashville.
As an avid golfer, lover of the arts and music, her graciousness, eloquence, wit, and sense of humor will be missed by all. Ann is survived by son, Ken (Mary) Rhodes of Orange Beach, FL, daughter, Beth Rhodes (Trey) Lewis, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
