Audrey married, Morris Eugene Russell, on October 31, 1974. She was known by many loving names, including Dammaw, Mama June, Miss June, Miss Audrey, Junie Bug, and Aunt June. No matter what name you called her, she was someone who loved deeply and was always willing to help others. She was fiercely loyal, playful, stubborn in the best way, and a fighter as many have seen. Most of all, her laugh was contagious and brought joy to those around her.
Audrey found happiness in the simple things in life. She loved gardening, feeding the birds, playing with animals, reading, collecting coins, staying up to date on the news, and painting her garden statues. She treasured spending time with her loved ones and loved attending church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended New Heart Christian Church and was involved with the Friends of Zion.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Russell; special friend, Jim Houston; sister, Dorothy McMahon; great love, Oscar Hudgins; and her parents, Richard and Eula Mae Miller.
She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts, including her daughter Vickie Jean Trent; son Chris Malone and his family, including great-grandsons Brandon and Austin; son Michael Eugene Russell, along with grandchildren Chelsea and Caymen; daughter Olinda June Jones and son-in-law Tommy Jones; grandson Cody Jones and Stephanie Jones, along with great-grandchildren Cota, Stevie, and Copper; granddaughter Brooke Jones; grandson Casey Jones and Ella McIsaac, along with great-granddaughter Navy Mae; brother Richard Miller; niece Marlene Krivi (Butch Krivi) and her children Heather, Katie, and Johnny; niece Jacqueline Self and her family; and many other extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Audrey also leaves behind the memory of the many animals she loved throughout her life, including Rowdy, Pee Wee, Ginger, and Annie. Her love for animals was just one of the many ways she showed her caring and compassionate heart.
Audrey’s life was one of faith, love, laughter, loyalty, and family. She touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through the family and friends she loved so dearly.
