Barbara Ann Hobson

Barbara was a respected and cherished wife, mother, and friend to countless people during her career as a home maker and business woman. She was a longtime active member of the Woodmont Hills Family of God Church, where she fulfilled her lifelong devotion to young children through teaching Sunday school for thirty years, and previously doing the same at Ridgetop and Madison churches.

Barbara cherished Jesus, her family and her dear friends above all else. She was an accomplished pianist whose hobbies included cooking, painting and hosting beautiful dinner parties for her many, many friends.

Barbara’s earliest job was with Brooks Brothers on Church street when her eldest child, Rick, was a baby. Later she moved to National Life Insurance Company working in the acquisitions department until Bob was born and then Donna, their youngest. Soon, Don and Barbara moved to Robertson county and began a poultry business. They later moved to Graybar Lane and founded Hobson Food Service company. Barbara served as the Controller and after Don’s passing, eventually sold the company to Choice Foods, Inc. in 2008 when she retired.

Barbara is survived by her children; Rick Hobson of Hilton Head, SC and his wife Nicole; Bob Hobson of Joelton, TN and his wife Janet and his children, Clint and Ashley and step-children, Alexis, Taylor and Haley Gillian; Donna Campbell of Nashville, TN and her husband David and their daughters Reed and Haley. Barbara has 4 great grandchildren; Ella and Isabel by Ashley; Brandon and Barrett by Clint; 4 step great grand children; Jessie, John Marvin and Amelia Grace by Haley Gillian; Ryland by Alexis; and many other beloved family members.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Don and her grandson, Brandon Hobson.

Barbara loved her Lord, she loved her family and friends, and she loved life. A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Sunday, July 14th at 3:00 PM at Woodmont Hills Church.
