Barbara Jean Seals

Barbara J. Seals, age 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. She was born on June 19th, 1939, in Liberty, Kentucky. Barbara graduated from Watkins Institute in Nashville. Her journey lead her to a fulfilling life filled with love, family, and faith.

After her graduation, Barbara met the love of her life, Thomas L. Seals, and the two were united in marriage on March 3rd, 1962, in Nashville. Together, they built a beautiful life, and Barbara became a devoted homemaker, lovingly referred to as a "domestic engineer." Her greatest joy was her family, and she was deeply committed to her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.

A lifelong church member, Barbara lived her life through faith with grace and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren, whom she adored and lived for.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Lee Witt and Ruth Edna Grooms Witt, her son, Thomas L. Seals Jr., and her siblings, Nancy Martin and Michael Witt. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas L. Seals; daughters, Amy Moon (Nathan) and Melanie Suzanne Kurz (Vince); daughter-in-law, Tami Seals; and grandchildren, Thomas L. Seals III, Vinny Ethan Kurz, and Reagan Suzanne Kurz.

Barbara’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will remain in the memories of her family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends for Barbara will be held Friday, January 3rd, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.

A gathering of family and friends will follow on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 beginning at 10:00am. Funeral services will follow beginning at 11:00am the same day at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
