Barbara Lydick Shwab

Barbara Lydick Shwab, age 83, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Barbara was born February 26, 1939 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late George Lydick and Luna Mae Durbin Lydick. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband of sixty years, George Augustus Shwab, III and brother, George Lydick Jr.

Barbara is survived by her son, George Augustus (Sandy) Shwab, IV; daughter, Deane (George) Shwab Vermilya of Lynchburg VA; grandchildren, Matthew Issac Huff, Stephen Kirk Huff, Emily V Phillips, Douglas Vermilya and Sydney Vermilya; great grandchildren include Landon Huff, Nora Huff, and Owen Huff.

Barbara meet the her love of her life while attending Purdue University while going to the Episcopal Church off campus on Sundays. She and George were married May 30th, 1959 in Lafayette Indiana. They moved to California but ultimately moved back east in 1975 to be closer to his family here in Nashville. She spent every Summer until recently at the Family cottage at the Belvedere Club in Charlevoix MI as well as at her other home in Beaufort SC.

A Graveside Service will be held privately at the Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery.
