

Barbara Jean White, (Jean) of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on May 8, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 20, 1931 to Edward Jordan and Nell Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) White and her brother Wayne Jordan of Nashville. She is survived by her brother Edward Jordan of Manchester, Tennessee; children Sandy (Larry) Reynolds of Nashville, Tennessee, Tim (Melanie) White of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Thomas (Tabitha) Reynolds, Matthew (Kelsey) Reynolds, Sharon (Desmond) Howard, Lindsey White and great grandchildren Emory Reynolds and Addison Howard.
Jean grew up in West Nashville. She attended Central High School and graduated from Bellevue High School. After graduation she worked for the Bell South and Tea companies until marrying and becoming a full time mom for several years. She returned to work as a bookkeeper at the Kroger Company where she retired after more than 15 years. Jean and Bob were married over 50 years. They loved spending their time at Opryland, traveling to the Smoky Mountains, Las Vegas, Savannah, Georgia, Florida, the Bahamas and especially a trip to England. She was a faithful member of West Nashville Presbyterian Church from eary childhood. Later she was a member of Glencliff Presbyterian Church where she was an elder of the church and active in the Women’s bible study for many years.
Jean was loved wherever she went and made many friends. She was known for her sense of humor and could surprise many with her funny quips that would come out of nowhere. Her family was a large part of her life and she enjoyed spending time with them. Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was loved deeply in return. She will be sorely missed. Visitation will be held from 2-5 Sunday, May 18 and services will be at 1 pm on Monday, May 19 at Mt Olivet Funeral Home.
