SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF A GREAT MAN AND FRIEND.

Mr. Hughes was my elementary school principal, we all loved him! He would always stand on the steps of the bus on Friday evening and say "see you in the funnies!" I absolutely adored him!

So sorry for the family of this wonderful man. He will be missed by the many lives that he touched in the short amount of time he was here.

Mr. Hughes was a great teacher and fabulous storyteller. How he brought the Odyssey to life with tales of the Cyclops and the Sirens. He introduced me to the Greek classics and so enriched my life. I went on to become a professional storyteller and Mr. Hughes was one of my earliest and finest role models. He truly was a gifted educator; his lessons have served me well throughout my life. Blessings and condolences to the family. May wonderful memories carry you through this difficult time and comfort you in all the days to come.

Died just after my own father, who always liked and respected Mr Hughes.  Such a great generation!  Condolences to Donna.....and family...

what a wonderful man, teacher, principal and most of all...neighbor. Most of my early childhood memories include The Hughes Family and they are forever linked with The Winters family.  Love to Donna, Becky and Tena. And, I know if Mother and Daddy could be here, they'd echo the same. Annette Winters and Winters family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time. Mr. Hughes was more than a principal to all of us at JES; he was a great role model and friend. They don't make great school leaders like him anymore. RIP- Mr. Hughes.

Rip Mr. Hughes you were an honorable man, to whom you inspired a lot of children's lives. You will be missed dearly.
