Barney was born in Red Boiling Springs, TN on March 8, 1951 to Hayden and Delma Rush. He married Lois Rush on August 3rd, 1968. He worked at Vanderbilt for 28 years, and also served in the U.S. Army.
Barney is preceded in death by his parents Hayden and Delma Rush.
He is survived by his wife Lois Rush, his children Richard Rush and Heather Curran (husband Brandon Curran), and his grandchildren Christian Bardon (husband Tyler Bardon) and Kaitlyn Curran.
In his free time he loved hunting, fishing and working on cars. You could always find him enjoying the outdoors. He enjoyed being with family and friends. One of Barneys biggest accomplishments was being a father and grandfather. We all remember him for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
