Ben and Ainslie were quite the pair-two peas in a pod. Ben was a kind and fun loving soul. He could brighten your day with his big smile and boisterous laughter. He loved Alabama football and the Dallas Cowboys. He was the commissioner of at least one fantasy football league every fall. He could answer almost any football question you could throw at him. He loved cars and could tell you anything about any one of them. He had a passion for weight lifting and enjoyed working out. And although he had his own struggles, he would never pass up an opportunity to help someone in need. He was loved by all who knew him. We love you, and we will miss you, Ben. Keep your eye on us.

My heart and prayers go out to Ben's family. I met Ben about 4 months ago. He helped me through a very rough and hard time in my life. My sobriety date is May 18, 2019. A lot of that is because of Ben. Anytime I wanted to give up he would not let me. Ben got me going to a gym. I can remember him saying, "Bro concentrate on the weights not the women". Then I would watch him immediately turn his head and watch some beautiful woman walk by us. He would then look down at me and start laughing. He was such a great guy. He saved many lifes helping people get into treatment. He was a huge part in saving my life.

He’s personality was so uplifting! I consider knowing Ben as a privilege bestowed upon me by God. His bright and cheerful smile could always brighten the day. One of my last encounters with Ben was a request from me to help with a huge community event, he graciously gave up an entire day to help our small town pull together a huge event. In the short time I knew him, he made a everlasting mark on my heart. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to meet Ben and get to know him as a kind, loving and funny man. Rest in peace Ben.

I am sorry we cannot attend Ben's memorial. We are gone next week on vacation. I did want to share a memory though. We only met Ben once, but I still remember his smile. It lit up his face. It was a very windy day, and your trash cans had turned over and trash was spilled around. Danny and I were out and saw it, and we started to clean it up. I guess Ben saw us from in the house, and he came out thanking us and introducing himself. The three of us cleaned up the trash and shared a simple moment of neighbors being neighbors. I am so sorry for your loss, and you are in my prayers.
