Bernard Lawrence Parlon, age 96, passed away Wednesday morning the 14th day of July 2010. He was born Monday the 26th day of January 1914 in Washington, D.C. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patrick Parlon. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Parlon, and son, Bernard Lawrence Parlon, Jr., sisters, Catherine and Elizabeth; brothers, Frank and Joseph.
A veteran of the United States Army, a member of Kemper Heights Church of Christ, a retired manager of H. G. Hill Food Stores and an avid sports fan of Vanderbilt and the Tennessee Titans, he is survived by his daughter Teresa Parlon; grandson, Joshua Shepherd.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday morning the 16th day of July 2010 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Ken Green officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. Pallbearers are Keith Puckett, Josh Shepherd, Michael Perry, Joe Towers, Jim Young and Kevin Alexander.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Parlon today Thursday, the 15th day of July 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Tennessee.
