

THOMPSON, Berry Hartley- Age 69 passed away February 15, 2010. Preceded in death by father, James Russell Thompson, Jr., and mother, Margaret Greene Thompson of Virginia. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Martha Franklin Thompson; children, Marina Gayle Puinno and Stuart Carter Thompson; daughter-in-law, Jamie Michelle Thompson; grandchildren, Shirley Nicole Puinno, Adam Anthony Puinno and Abigayle Dakota Thompson; brother, William Greene Thompson; sister-in-law-, Judie Thompson, and niece, Victoria Noel Mahler along with many other family and friends that will greatly miss him. Berry was a retired Major from the U.S. army and received his B.S. Degree in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. Degree in Education from the University of Southern California, and an M.A. in History from MTSU. He was a well loved brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. A memorial service will Military Honors will be held 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Dr. Ron Carrier officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
