

Betty Ann Best-Hunter, 84, was born July 11, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, and passed away on July 11, 2026. A beloved and cherished presence to those who knew her, Betty carried herself with a steady devotion and a kind-hearted spirit that made family feel held, and ordinary days feel gentler.
Betty graduated from Central High School, a milestone she carried with quiet pride. In the rhythms of everyday life, she found simple joys—especially in watching sports regularly, a pastime that brought comfort, conversation, and familiar excitement. Through it all, her faithful heart and devoted love for her family remained the truest measure of who she was.
Betty was married to Noble N. Best and Jerry Hunter, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Best; brothers, Bobby Garvin and Rickie Garvin; sister, Linda Garvin; and parents, Hugh Everett Garvin and Nannie Margaret Garvin.
Betty is survived by her children, Kim (Raymond) Moss, Chip Best, and Mark (Teresa) Best; her grandchildren and all her favorites, Ray (Carrie) Thompson, Noble (Kristen) Thompson, Christopher Best, Joseph Bodily, Dawson Wooten, Jennifer (Mark) King, and MaKayla Moss; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gatherings of Family & Friends will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, Tennessee 37204 on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Chisgar officiating.
A Committal Service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
