Betty L. Pope

POPE, Betty Lee Derryberry, age 98 of Nashville, passed away on the 7th of September 2011. Mrs. Pope was a long time member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. She was born on the 25th of January 1913, in Lexington, Tennessee, to the late Esco and Lillian (Moss) Derryberry. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Lorenz Pope, son, Dr. Bill Pope and sister, Mildred Douglass. Survivors include: Daughter, Betsy (David) Redmond, grandchildren, Lee Ann (Anthony) Hanna, Lou Ann (Charles) Cox, Tom (Kari) Redmond, Emily (Preston) Cross, Billy Pope, Ashley Pope, and seven great-grandchildren, Tom Hanna, Katie Hanna, Taylor Patterson, Becca Redmond, Peyton Redmond, and Aaron Redmond. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gilleland Scholarship Fund, Belmont Heights Baptist Church, 2100 Belmont Blvd, Nashville, TN 37122, or the EANGTN Auxiliary Relief Fund, 4332 Kenilwood Drive, Nashville, TN 37204. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of her Sunday School Class, Sanders, Mizpah. Funeral Services are to be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, 10th of September 2011 at Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
