

FREEMAN , Billie, age 92 of Nashville was born in Tigrett, TN to the late Willie McMackin and Elmer Green, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at home with a peace that passed all understanding. Preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Freeman. A greatly beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Mrs. Freeman is survived by her two daughters, Martha (Robby) Snyder and Stacey (Jerry) Palmer; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Adam Whitaker and Jeramy and Olivia Snyder; great granddaughter, Jocelyn Whitaker. She graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1942 and married her true love, John Thomas Freeman in 1946. Upon graduation, she worked for five years for the Dept. of The Army. Mrs. Freeman then enjoyed a rewarding career with the U.S. Postal Service, receiving many awards and promotions during the course of her 36 years of service. She retired in 1984 after which she traveled and spent time with friends and family until her death. She was a long time and faithful member of Donelson Church of Christ. Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN with family members serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 – 11 a.m. Monday.
