Mrs. Gentry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married her love and soul mate, William Harding Gentry on April 21, 1946. Married for 45 years, she devoted the last 7 ½ to caring for her husband before he passed in December of 1991. Mrs. Gentry was most proud of her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always there to provide a meal, a kind word and to help them in any way needed. She was a longtime member of Glenwood Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible. In her early years, she was a member of the garden club.
Preceded in death by her husband William Harding Gentry; sister Pam Stacy; and sister-in-law and best friend Mary Louise Sandlin Dies.
Survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rose Mary and Michael Green; grandchildren Doug Harris and Karen Cohen (Rob); great-grandchildren Shelby Harris, Tyler Harris and Warren Cohen; nephews David (Leigh Ann) Sandlin, Eddie (Lana) Sandlin, and Pat (Grace) Sandlin.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2014 at one o’clock in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
