Cara L. Parrish

Cara Mai Love Parrish, age 91, passed away at her home on May 30, 2016 after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Parrish, Sr.; parents, Buford Love & Velma Hill Love; sisters, Sara Trigg & Elizabeth Long. Cara is survived by her children, Jesse Parrish, Jr., Susan Nelson, Christie Parrish, Becky (Roger) Womble, Pat (Jim) Badon, and Shirley (Gerald) Grohman; 13 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cara attended Culleoka High School, nursing school, and worked at Southern Bell until becoming a fulltime homemaker and mother of six. She was an active member of Vultee Church of Christ, and was a faithful Christian; and she loved God & Jesus. She practiced her beliefs daily by praising God and assisting others. She read her bible and prayed daily. She was deeply loved, and her smile will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3rd at 11:00am in the chapel of Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will begin Thursday, June 2nd from 4-8pm and Friday from 10:00am until time of service.
