Carl Alfred Tucker

Carl A. Tucker of Hermitage TN died peacefully at home on December 12, 2023 following a long illness. He was a native of Gallatin, TN and was preceded in death by his parents Carl Carmack Tucker and Ollie Johnson Tucker.

He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1962, and earned a degree in history from Peabody College in 1972. After brief period of teaching high school history, Carl began a 35 year accounting career with Metro Nashville Water Service.

He enjoyed music, puzzles, movies, trivia, and time with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, which he played as a young man. Those who knew him will remember his kind and generous spirit, his quirky and pun-loving sense of humor, and his curiosity about the world and the people in it.

He is survived by two daughters, Katie Kennedy of Columbus, Ohio and Leslie Tucker of Nashville, grandsons Michael and Daniel Kennedy, brother, Stan Tucker of Nashville, and former wife Dotty Tucker of Nashville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 16, 2023 at 1:00pm in the chapel at McKendree Village in Hermitage. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a charity reflective of Carl’s kind heart.
