At 49, she suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak, yet it never silenced her spirit. Through years of hard work and determination to not be defined by her physical limitations, Carol rebuilt a life filled with resilience, grace, and quiet strength - her faith never wavered.
Though she never regained her voice, Carol communicated a deep and powerful love without words. Her eyes, gentle touch, and radiant smile made others feel seen, comforted, and valued. She had a rare gift for connection that transcended speech.
Carol’s life was always defined by devotion to her family. As a single mother, she gave her daughter a wonderful life filled with love, while also providing a steady source of strength for her mother and sister, always offering care and unwavering support. Later, she embraced her role as “Nanny” with so much joy, forming a deep and lasting bond with her two precious granddaughters.
Even through hardship, Carol’s focus was always on others. She never complained or felt pity for herself. Instead she greeted everyone she encountered - whether it be family member, caregiver or a complete stranger - with her warm presence, kindness and signature smile. Though she could not speak, her loving and selfless spirit spoke volumes and was profoundly heard by all who knew her.
Her legacy is one of devotion—to her family, to kindness, and to living with grace despite adversity. She showed that love does not require words, only presence and heart.
Carol leaves behind a family who cherished her and a lifetime of memories rooted in love and sacrifice. She is survived by her daughter Jennie Harrell, her granddaughters Blair King (Jack), Brooke Perdue (Tim), brother Philip Little, nephews Flint and Chris Little and great grandniece, Ivy. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Little, mother Flora Little and sister, Patricia Little.
She will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is now whole, at peace, and embraced in eternal love. May her life continue to inspire all who remember her to live and love as fully and selflessly as she did.
