Carolyn Lee Wilson Medlin, age 78, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a legacy of strength that will live on through her family for generations to come.
Carolyn was born on August 14, 1948, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to William Robert Wilson and Cornelia McElory Wilson. She grew up in Donelson, Tennessee, and was a lifelong member of Donelson Church of Christ.
To know Carolyn was to know a woman of extraordinary strength. She was truly a force to be reckoned with — strong-willed, determined, fiercely loyal, and full of love. No matter what life brought her way, she faced it with remarkable courage. She was the kind of woman who would move mountains for the people she loved, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her family.
Above all else, Carolyn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was always there for her children, offering unwavering love, support, and strength through every season of life. She loved her family with everything she had, never halfway and never with conditions.
Her grandchildren were her whole world, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with them. She loved fishing, working in her garden, and spending days at the creek with Brady and Mack, riding go-karts and chasing chickens. Whatever they wanted to do, she was right there beside them, making memories they will cherish forever.
Carolyn shared a special lifelong bond with her cousin and best friend, Judy Lynch, whose friendship meant so much to her.
Even through life's most difficult battles, Carolyn showed strength and determination that will never be forgotten. Her greatest legacy is the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the strength she passed down to her family. Though she is no longer here, her spirit will live on in their hearts, their laughter, and the countless memories they shared.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Wilson and Cornelia McElroy Wilson, and her brother, Larry Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Mark Medlin; her daughter, Amanda Motsenbocker (Ryan); her beloved grandchildren, Brady and Mack Motsenbocker and Farrah and Gardner Medlin; her brother, Robert Wilson; her sister, Betty Abner (Jim); her dear cousin and best friend, Judy Lynch; and many other cherished family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Donelson Church of Christ Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m.
