Charlene C Damron

Charlene was born on January 7, 1943, in Bristol, Virginia. She later would move to Bristol, Tennessee, area where she would attend Bristol High School. After graduating, she went on to pursue higher education at East Tennessee State University where she earned her bachelor's degree.

In August 1965, Charlene married the love of her life, Paul Damron, in Bristol, Virginia. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, work and community. Their marriage was a partnership that endured through more than six decades of life's joys and challenges. Charlene not only became a wife, but also a mother. She was devoted to giving her children kindness, guidance, and encouragement. Her love for her family was steadfast and unwavering and the impact she made on them would become part of her everlasting legacy.

Charlene's professional life reflected her many talents and interests. She worked as a teacher and homemaker and later pursued work in real estate and business. She was a realtor and business owner and also served as a manger at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Whatever role she undertook, Charlene was dedicated, compassionate, and devoted.

Her faith and community were important parts of her life. Charlene was a member of the Priest Lake Women's Club, Tennessee Republican Assembly, and First Baptist Church of Mt.Juliet, where she found fellowship and community.

Those who knew Charlene will remember her not only for her accomplishments but for the things that brought her genuine happiness. She had a love for handmade jewelry, mystery novels, and books of all kinds. Throughout her lifetime she read over a thousand mystery novels, as an avid reader, she treasured books and is remembered as someone who could appreciate the comfort, adventure, and escape found within their pages. She also enjoyed the many simple pleasures of life and the time spent with those she loved. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas time when she could be surrounded by the warmth of her family.

Above all, Charlene was devoted to her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Damron, and her children, Lesley (Joe) Spain, Myles (Jennifer) Damron, and her grandchildren, Danielle (Bobby) Kerr, Brandon Morell, Miranda King, Ethan Damron, Chloe Damron, great-grandchildren, Braydon Kerr and Kohlson Kerr, and many others who brought great joy to her life.

Charlene was preceded in death by her sister, Carlyn Slagle, as well as her CR and Dorothy Collins. Though she is no longer with those who loved her, the memories she created and the lessons she shared continue to live on in her family.

Those who knew Charlene will remember her for her devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, her love of books and creativity, and the warmth she brought to the lives of the people around her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 11am-1pm, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Followed by, a funeral service beginning at 1pm and entombment will follow services at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
