A lifelong resident of South Nashville, Charlie deeply treasured his family, including his mother Lucille Riggan Thomas, stepfather Russell, brother Paul, sister, Etta, nieces, Adrianne, Deanna. He possessed a rare, gentle disposition and was never known to complain. Charlie savored life's simple pleasures—a cup of delicious coffee, good BBQ, and classic Western films. He took pride in his routine, dressing for success daily and making his bed to perfection every morning. Above all, Mr. Riggan was a man of absolute integrity who always kept his word.
Charlie embraced the culture of his hometown, enjoying visits to the Ryman Auditorium and Graceland. He held a passion for classic country music, particularly the works of Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton. A warm and attentive host, he took a genuine interest in others, always asking detailed questions about how friends, family, and loved ones were doing. Though he didn't own a pet, he never missed an opportunity to greet a friendly dog or cat, and on sunny days, he loved nothing more than fishing along the Buffalo River or spending time out on the water.
To those who knew him, Charles was a king among men and a truly special soul—the closest thing to an angel on Earth. Now whole, healed, and free from worldly afflictions, he rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord. He leaves behind a legacy of grace that will never be forgotten by those fortunate enough to have known him.
