Christina Lee Ferrell

Ferrell, Christina Lee-Age 42, of Nashville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on April 9. Survived by her beloved son, Joshua Runkles (Hermitage, TN) attending Hiram College, Hiram, OH, and her dear mother, Sharon Hatch Schutt (Hermitage,TN). Christina’s life was a tribute to her belief in the importance of being a mother. She was known for her passionate devotion to her son, her wonderful sense of humor, her sensitive caring for young people in need and her loyalty to her friends. She welcomed those dear to her to become part of her family where they would remain close to her always. Particularly, she held a special place in her heart for Rachel Barrow who became the daughter she never had. She was dedicated to the non-profit youth serving agency, Oasis Center, and its mission to provide safety, volunteer opportunities and counseling for all young people. She leaves behind a lifetime of love and devotion to caring for others that will provide strength for her son, family and friends. Remembering Christy’s love for purple will bring a smile to all those who miss her. Christy was preceded in death by her loving father, Dean Ferrell, and grandmother, Christine Hatch. In addition to her son, Josh; her mother, Sharon; and special friend, Rachel Barrow and her family (Elaine and Nick); Christy is survived by step siblings; Alison Ferrell, Kristi Garret, Mark Schutt and Kelly Tyda; aunts and uncles; Joan and Tom Carmody, Barbara and Tom Tant, Cecilia, Charles and Terry; grandparents; Fred and Agnes Hatch (St. Augustine, FL), and Bill and Lee Ferrell (Jacksonville, FL); cousins; Kara Carmody, Mary Tomlin (Jason), James Tomlin, Jamie Garrett, Connie and Ferd Weil, Joy and Frank Frye; stepfathers; Peter Tyda, and Dennis Schutt; stepmother; Trish Tyda; close friends; Cheryl and Ava Loyd, Jason Odom, Melodie Wright, and Jon Harbin; and all past and present co-workers.
