

Born on March 13, 1969, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Christina was the beloved daughter of Dr. Mary Frances Varallo and the late Dr. Nick F. Varallo, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father; her aunts, Frances Anne Varallo, Aurelia (John) Mariani, and Margie Hounihan; and her uncle, Kevin Hounihan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted mother, Dr. Mary Frances Varallo; her brother, Nicholas F. Varallo III, and his wife, Megan; her cherished niece, Avery Miller Varallo; her uncle, Hal “Champ” Hounihan; and a wealth of loving family members and friends.
Christina graduated from Harpeth Hall in 1987. While in high school, Christina achieved much academically, athletically, and as a community leader. She was a cheerleader for both Harpeth Hall and Montgomery Bell Academy, served as a homecoming attendant at Montgomery Bell Academy, and was ranked 38th in the Southeast as a competitive tennis player while a member of Harpeth Hall’s tennis team. Christina was a member of FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, both in high school and college.
After graduation, Christina went on to earn her degree in Mass Communications, graduating cum laude from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, with a minor in Business. While attending St. Mary’s, Christina demonstrated exceptional leadership, organizing and leading a team of students from St. Mary’s and Notre Dame in a grassroots initiative to enhance the aesthetics of local disadvantaged neighborhoods and to support underprivileged citizens of South Bend, Indiana. Also, Christina was elected into her student government serving for her class.
Her leadership and community involvement were widely recognized. She received the “Outstanding Organizational Student Leader” award from the South Bend City Council and was instrumental in establishing the inaugural women’s lacrosse team at St. Mary’s, where she served as co-captain. Later, she was honored by the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Nashville as “Person of the Year.” Christina was also recognized by Metro Nashville City Council for her “Courage and Determination.” Christina was on the National Board of Brain Injuries Foundation travelling on behalf of them to speak at conferences, in Washington D.C., Chicago, and New Orleans.
Christina was also passionate about sports and loved cheering for Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and the Tennessee Titans. Professionally, she worked in the music industry alongside her aunt, producer Frances Anne Varallo, serving as an assistant producer on The Statler Brothers Show, the Dove Awards, and the Music City Awards.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Calvary Cemetery.
