My first memory with you is my 2nd favorite. I just started working at S&S and my sister introduced us. She said your name was Sunshine and you immediately got red in the face and smiled from ear to ear. Your smile was truly like sunshine! My favorite is the day we had Carter! He is so much like you it's unreal! He has your smile, your kind and loving heart, your silly faces, but mostly, he hugs just like you! You taught him so much in these past 5 years and I don't know how I'm going to do this without you here! You have been there for him since day one. I promise you he will know that you are his biggest fan and love him with all of your heart! Watch over us from heaven and help me guide Carter to be the kind hearted man you were!❤

Where to begin. The 1st memory to pop in my head was the day we came to pick up Steven in the lemo, it was probably junior high and I'm guessing Chris knew it would be full of cheerleaders. We pull up and theres this little kid, Chris standing beside the mailbox looking all big and bad.
Then all the memories I have of when the 4 musketeers better know as MattB., Mitchell W., Matt I., and Chris M. started hanging out every single day. Those 4 you could not mess with. You never messed with his brothers.
He was the only father Mason knew and still knows even though he wasnt his own his heart and love let Mason know he never had to worry about that. No matter how down you were, he always knew how to make you smile and made everything so much better. When I was going through my time with my younger brother Mimi and Chris showed up at the hospital. I met him downstairs and he gave me the biggest hug. His hugs and his smile were so warming. Even tho I knew things weren't good, that hug made me feel ok.
He has a heart of gold and loved with every being of his soul. And boy was he proud of his son and so proud to be his father. When I would see him he would ask how Mason was, then I would ask how his little one was and boy his chest poked out and with that contagious smile he would reply "GREAT."
Mr. Carter your one lucky kid to have such a wonderful father like Chris and such a wonderful family. Remember he never left and will always be with you. He will always live through Mr. Carter and that's a blessing. 💕💕💕💕

My family and I are pretty regular at going to Fletchers on Tuesday nights, at least twice a month. Chris was always so nice to us, our kids & was always so helpful.
He touched so many in our community. We will miss seeing him at fletchers and will keep the family & his son in our thoughts and prayers.

We are devastated . With living across the street we feel we got to watch you grow up. Selling lemonade and homemade drawings with our daughter and always being the friendliest young man in the world. You always brought Carter over for the Halloween parties. So proud of him. We will miss you sooo very much. Such a great big heart , friendly to everyone. A very good man💓

We enjoyed visiting with Chris on an almost weekly basis at Fletcher’s Pizza.

From our many conversations, it was obvious to us that he loved his son. Chris talked about his son every time we saw him.

God has a special place for Chris, and there is no doubt that Chris is with God.

Go in Peace Chris, rest now in the palms of Gods kind and loving hands.

My deepest sympathy to friends and family. I work next door and saw the gathering and loved the outpouring of "red", what a tribute to him. Love to all, prayers and sympathy.

Chris was a very special young man who held a special place in my heart. He had big smile and a very caring heart. I knew him his entire life. Many years ago when my ex husband and I were living in Madison we had a shed that needed to be taken down and Chris came and helped us take it down. Greg said Chris was a very hard worker! That trait stayed with him. He will be missed by all and I know Becky and Steven will make certain he is never forgotten and always remembered to his small son.
