Clyde Elmore O’Brien, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was a disciple of Christ and a long-time member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a lover of scripture, always there with a Bible verse to help someone in need. He put his faith into action regularly in practical ways.
Clyde was retired from driving expedited freight where he enjoyed traveling to many different places in the United States. If you were driving anywhere, he could easily recommend specific routes to stop at along the way, especially restaurants. His favorite hobbies were fishing (especially with his nephew!), photography, reading, working on cars, and talking in Morse Code on his ham radio to other hams all over the world. Some people knew him by his ham radio call sign, WB4YLV.
Clyde was a loving brother and uncle, and spoke of them often. He was a kind and gentle man who often had an interesting story to tell. He was a great friend to many, a good listener, a willing help when needed, and an encourager.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde O'Brien; mother, Pauline O'Brien; and sister, Linda O'Brien. He is survived by his three sisters, Annette ("Ramsey" Marion) Ramsey, Sandra Bigvand and Paula (Philip) O'Brien, as well as "Sweetie Gal" niece, Danielle and nephews, Jason, Philip, Tom, Jim and Scott.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at two o'clock in the afternoon at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, 210 Battle Rd, Nashville, Tennessee 37013.
