We will always remember Jo for her sweet love for our children with special needs.  She made dolls for our daughter and clothes for the dolls.  We also remember her as a valuable member of our bowling team at Tusculum Bowl.  She was a very generous person, and we will miss her.

My Aunt Josie or Aunt Jo is forever etched in my memoriesâ€¦I remember her smileâ€¦I remember her love for family and friendsâ€¦I remember endless bowls of chocolate at her houseâ€¦I remember her wonderful Waldorf  saladâ€¦I remember 70+ bags of Halloween candy every yearâ€¦I remember Josie knitting and quilting my children's blankets, sweaters and bootiesâ€¦I remember my Barbie being the best dressed one in the whole worldâ€¦I remember her dry sense of humor...I remember Josie's abilities to draw ads so effortlessly on her office desk at the downtown Harveysâ€¦I remember her phenomenal memory of dates, people, places and thingsâ€¦I remember Josie's love of sports especially baseball (she once told me it was because she only had boys to play with in the neighborhood)â€¦I remember her knitting, cross-stitching, crocheting and sewing hundreds of quilts/blanketsâ€¦I remember her making Christmas ornaments for family and friendsâ€¦I remember beautifully wrap presentsâ€¦I remember stories about her summers in South Pittsburg, TN where she learned to do needle workâ€¦I remember Josie's love of animals especially for cats and dogsâ€¦I remember the mischievous look in her eyesâ€¦I remember her green thumb especially with roses and irisesâ€¦I remember her bowling for as long as I have been aliveâ€¦I remember her stories about skating down at the Hippodrome for 10 cents and her brother/my dad, Billy walking her  home with her skates on his shoulderâ€¦What I remember the most is her caring nature and her ability to take care of family--Aunt Lila, her step-father, Louis, her mother, Dorothy and of course her wonderful husband, H.B.

If we approach our talents, jobs, hobbies or our life's work,.with the same passion,quest for excellence, and diligence that Aunt Jo committed to her beautiful works of art, surely we can bring the same joy to others and ourselves as she has, as we go through life.
This world has lost a talented artist by trade, who had a lifelong career at Harvey's. She could also knit, crochet, do embroidery, and tatting to name a few of the other arts she perfected. She shared her creations with those of us around her....so many hours she would invest in the priceless gifts.
With an arm and an eye for her other hobby, bowling, she enjoyed her many years winning awards. She had a lifelong love of Uncle B, and their many animals. I have heard that she was a good friend. As a youth, she spent lots of time at the roller skating rink. She was so stunningly pretty, as I look back over her photos from years gone by. Aunt Jo loved....to talk! She was so full of spunk.

 She was strong and independent. She responsibly, honestly, and dutifully took care of her aging family members and her husband, who died before her, fulfilling their wishes. I have always admired that about her. She had a warm spot in her heart for veterans causes.

I celebrate that she was still living in her own home at 84 and bowling on a league 2 times a week, before she became ill. I celebrate her life, I celebrate her many talents, her kind heart, and her soul moving into a new realm, eternity.
