

Curt Bucy, 41, of Franklin, TN passed away on January 7, 2014 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a brief illness. Curt was born on January 11, 1972 in Paris, TN. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1990 and attended Murray State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity and the MSU Wind Ensemble. Curt recently earned a master’s degree in counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. He previously served as an I.T. security analyst at the global accounting and consulting firm Deloitte.
A lover of music and a talented musician, Curt traveled with the Nebraska Theater Caravan and performed with the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra and the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. Curt loved animals and traveled extensively showing his Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. He also enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and internationally to see his beloved friends from the dog show world. He was a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA and several regional and international Cavalier clubs.
He relished trying new recipes, traveling, sharing Facebook posts and texting, and providing a running commentary on favorite TV shows and whatever was going on in the world of pop culture. A big man with a big heart, Curt was full of life, never shy to share a witty comment or good-hearted humor. Above all, he was a loyal partner, an endeared family member and devoted friend to the people that he loved all around the world.
Curt leaves behind his partner of 15 years, Clayton Klutts. They were recently married in New York where they often traveled. Also surviving Curt are his parents, Kent and Barbara Bucy, his brother Troy (Amanda) Bucy, and his nephew Kaleb Bucy. He also leaves an extended family of aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends that he called family and his dear friend Sandy Presgrove. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W.T. and Mae Dell Bucy and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Leona Maness.
Memorial services will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 19th in Wightman Chapel at the Scarritt Bennett Center located at 1008 19th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37212. A reception will follow in Susie Gray Hall on the Scarritt Bennett campus. In lieu of flowers, Curt would appreciate donations to Cavalier Rescue USA. Their website address is cavalierrescueusa.org.
