

Daniel Leroy Neff, 90, of Brentwood, Tennessee, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother, friend and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, entered Glory at 10:19 P.M. October 10, 2014 at The Residence at Alive Hospice, Nashville, Tennessee. Dan was born in Logansport, Indiana and grew up near Clawson, Michigan. He entered the Army Air Force in 1942 and served as a flight engineer on B-25’s and A-20’s, when he left the service in 1946, he married Betty J. Reed and they were married for 68 years. Dan retired from Winamac Steel Products in 1987 after 38 years as an accountant. In retirement, Dan enjoyed golf, fishing, billiards and woodworking. He served the Winamac Church of the Nazarene as church treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent for many, many years and later as a Sunday School Class President of the Friendship Class at Fort Myers First Church of the Nazarene. When Dan and Betty moved to Nashville in 2011, he joined the Agape Class at Trevecca Community Church.
His parents, Claude and Gayle Neff, precede Dan in death. Coming from a large family of 12 brothers and sisters, Thelma (Jim) Atwood survives. Dan and Betty have lost two children, Lynette Vandawater (Lee) and Richard “Rich” Neff. Thomas Neff, of Lehigh Florida, John Neff (Terri) of Winamac, Indiana, and Randy Neff (Lucinda) of Brentwood, Tennessee survive. Dan loved his family and took great pride in not only his children but his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. Grandchildren include Todd Vandawater (Laura) of Franklin, Tennessee, Trisha Kasten (Jason) of Winamac, Indiana, Shane Neff of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Aaron Jachim (Catherine) of Pulaski, Indiana, Randa Hill (Frank) of Asheboro, North Carolina, Nathan Jachim (Lisa), of Winamac, Indiana, Chris Neff of Lexington, North Carolina, Leslie Jachim, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Melinda Satorius (Doug) of Culver, Indiana, Shawn Neff of Decatur, Alabama, Daniel Neff (Amy) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Reed Neff of Nashville, Tennessee. His great grandchildren include Chelsee Freeman (Randy), Hannah Hill, Ariel Smoll, Shania, Ryan and Christopher Neff, Kaylee, Hunter and Morgan Hamby, Keegan, Kiely, Kamron and Karson Kasten, Matthew, Mason and Luke Vandawater, Anna Marie, Nicholas and Nicole Satorius, Konner Cockrell, Brooklyn and Harrison Jachim, Ethan Messer, Madison Jachim with Tucker Daniel Neff to be here in January. He has numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
