Born 3/3/32 in Tarboro, NC, Daphne was the oldest of 8, weighing in at just 2 1/2 pounds. She often stated that she was" born fighting and fought her whole life". She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Buck and Edna, and her sister Barbara. She is survived by her children, Deb and Tony Catalano, Stephanie Ladd, and Mitch and Sue Rooker, 1 sister and 5 brothers and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. After having moved frequently during her married life, she landed in Nashville in 1967 and made it her home. She worked in PR and Marketing for what was then the Third National Bank. There she earned an assoc. degree in banking and became an officer of the bank. Boy, did she love flowers! She belonged to both the Oak Hill and WoodbineGarden Clubs, and the Tennessee Federation Judges Council where she was a Master Judge. Her love of the ladybug was well known. She was a Member of Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Daphne loved her sports, rooting for the Tennessee Titans, Vandy, Duke, and the Atlanta Braves. Even her fear of snakes could not keep her away from the local fishing ponds in Tarboro, and she spent hours playing games with her family, bragging that she "never cheated at anything". She had an infectious and boisterous laugh and a heart of gold. She would have spent her last dollar buying supplies for the less fortunate. She was forever sending little " love notes" to friends and family. She was cremated according to her wishes, and a donation was made to the Tennessee Tissue Recovery, where her skin will be used to help breast cancer and burn patients. She was both a breast cancer and stroke survivor, so donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or National Stroke Foundation, one of her garden clubs, or her hometown church, Cobb Memorial Presbyterian of Tarboro, N.C. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family. Her stubborness, rightly inherited from Charlie Buck and Edna, brought her through many hardships. Rest in Peace, Daffy Lou. 11/20/2015 Visit the online obituary: www.woodlawn-roesch-pattonfh.com.
