

Delmer Hershel (Dick) Peppers, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. He is survived by his children Sandra Peppers, Linda Hays, Sheri Cotham, Susan (Ray) Bowling, and Johnny (Kandace) Peppers. He is also survived by his grandchildren Katie and Lisa Hays, Carla (Brian) Moyer, Christi (Mark) Hale, Laura, Michael, and Rachel Bowling, Davey, Josh, Becca, Sammie, Thomas, Lucas, and Matthew Peppers, and by his great-grandchildren, Kenna and Everly Moyer and Brendon and Crockett Hale. Additionally, he is survived by his half-brother Gary (Jodi) Peppers, a “dream team” of caregivers, and many extended family members and friends, including Lindalu Lovier, Nina Peppers, and Keisha and Greg Beard.
He is pre-deceased by his wife of 54 years, Wylene Peppers, and his parents, Herman and Plumer Bishop Peppers, and his half brothers, Robert Carter (R.C.) and Roger Peppers.
Dick was a true entrepreneur. He enjoyed learning and starting many different types of businesses from shoe stores and coin laundries, to picture framing and cattle farming. He spent his final years focused on spreading love through nursing home visits, meal deliveries, toy puppy giveaways, and other small acts of kindness.
Dick had a natural charisma and love of life and enjoyed sharing his passions with others. He was most happy when he was working, with friends, or outdoors. He will be greatly missed.
A private family Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, and was officiated by Pastor Paul Bane. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
