In his personal life, Donald was married to Jane Sawyer in Nashville, Tennessee. He cherished spending time with his family, playing golf, and enjoying the outdoors.
He was a loyal member of the Antioch Church of Christ, where he was known for his faithfulness and wisdom.
Donald leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Jeff (Sonie) Sawyer and Mike Sawyer, and his grandchildren Page Sawyer, Jessy Sawyer, Kelsey Sawyer, Brandi Sawyer, Matthew Sawyer, and Ivaney Sawyer. He is also survived by his sister, Addilynn Sawyer.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park, located at 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on November 19, 2025, at 11:30 am.
