I have known Don since dental school at Meharry Medical College. I was his orthodontic instructor. In the early 1980's we practiced orthodontics together. Don was highly skilled and a great orthodontist. Each patient was special to him and he cared for each with skill to do his very best.
Adele and I will miss him.

Don and I became very good friends while he was a teacher at Meharry's school of dentistry. He loved teaching and was very good at it. We met when, as a Californian, etc, Don recognized that he needed to alter his cultural realities one day when he started to say "roger" rather than "right." We both laughed when he stopped in mid-word. We became immediate super friends. Don was a genuinely good guy. Very sensitive and smart. An excellent teacher, he was, even though he was basically a shy and self effacing person by nature. He understood and appreciated Meharry's role and importance and worked tirelessly to advance its cause. We often spoke of cars (he liked Porsches and I liked English sport cars), and family. He loved Vicky and the boys. I'd rile him about how it was to have a loving wife too..and all girls! We were both happy to see his son Matt attend Meharry' dental school and do well. I dare say that Don lived life with class, dignity, commitment, modesty...and to the fullest. He was my friend, and I am wishing the best for his entire family. Ed
