Born October 23, 1912 and raised in Tampa, Florida, she spent her married life in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and finally Tennessee. She was a loving wife, mother of two sons, grandmother, great-grandmother, registered nurse, highly respected antiques dealer for 35 years, poet, a deeply spiritual person, loyal friend and avid Nashville Predators fan. Those who knew her describe her as a strong, capable woman ahead of her time, warm, elegant and witty, with every hair in place.
She was preceded in death by her six sisters and brothers, her husband of 55 years, Abelardo Cigarran and her son Anthony Cigarran.
She is survived by her son Tom Cigarran (Connie), Nashville, Daughter-in-law Anne Humes, Princeton, N.J., four grandchildren, Colin Cigarran, (Jane), Corvalis, Oregon, Chris Cigarran (Katherine), Nashville, Jason Cigarran, (Betsy), Atlanta, and Lindsey Cigarran Axel, (Merrick), Chicago and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration is planned for late spring, Covid permitting, with interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery at the time.
The family would like to express its thanks to the staff at Blakeford for the exceptional caring they showed her during the 13 years she resided there, to the many dear friends she met at Blakeford and with whom she interacted and especially to Hart and Julia, caregivers who made her last years comfortable and enjoyable.
Should you wish, offer a prayer in her name for those suffering from the pandemic, that they may return to health and stability soon. She would like that.
