NELSON, Doris Cochran Turner, age 91, passed away peacefully on the 20th of November 2012 in Franklin, Tennessee. She was born on the 25th of October 1921 in Decatur, Alabama. Doris graduated from Central High School in Nashville. She had a zest for life, and a strong work ethic. She was an excellent bookkeeper, having worked for Beaman Bottling Company, a Pre-Need Sales Counselor for Woodlawn Funeral Home and Mt. Olivet Funeral Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ethel (Sivley) Turner; husbands, Ellis Cochran and Elliot Nelson; brother, Frank Turner and sisters, Francis Thornhill and Geneva Weathers. Doris is survived by her son, Richard (Jan) Cochran; Grandson, Rich (Lisa) Cochran; Granddaughter, Julie Cochran and Brother, C.B. (Joyce) Turner. The family gives Special Thanks to the staff of Willow Springs Assisted Living, for their loving and dedicated care. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 24th of November at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 23rd of November at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
