

Dorothy Lee "Dot" Mitchell, age 91 departed this life on January 7, 2021 in Woodbury, Tennessee. She was born on January 28, 1929 in Woodbury, Tennessee to the late, Thomas Hatton and Kinnie Keaton King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry W. Mitchell; brothers, A. D. King, Thomas King and W.H. King; sisters, Dovie King, Mildred Russell, Dewey Gaither and Gladys George.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Kim) Mitchell of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandson, Casey Mitchell of Smyrna, Tennessee; sisters, Lovie Rowell of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Shirley Rogers of Woodbury, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dot was a longtime member of the former Radnor Baptist Church, now Sunset Hills Baptist Church. She worked at The Cotton Shop in Downtown Nashville for many years. Dot was admired for her cooking, especially her famous chocolate pies.
A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Woodbury Nursing Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held from two o'clock in the afternoon until five o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Sunset Hills Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service, will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Sunset Hills Baptist Church, 1635 Sunset Road, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027 with Pastor Steve Durham officiating. A Private Burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dot's honor to, Woodbury Nursing Home, 119 W. High Street, Woodbury, Tennessee 37190 or Sunset Hills Baptist Church, 1635 Sunset Road, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027.
