

It is with great sorrow that her family announces the passing of Dorothy Swift Warren, a gentle and caring woman who touched and enriched the lives of all she knew and loved. Mrs. Warren was born on September 20, 1928 and left this life peacefully on March 10, 2015.
Mrs. Warren attended Jere Baxter Elementary School, was a 1946 graduate of Issac Litten High School and attended George Peabody College. She was a charter member and the faithful servant of Dalewood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Warren was married for sixty-five years to her devoted husband and love of her life, George Jakes Warren. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, Vera and Virgil Swift; brother, Victor Swift; nephew, Barry Swift and great granddaughter, Margaret Jane (Maggie) Warren. She is survived by her children, Carole Lynn Warren, Cheryl Warren (Sandy) Smith, George Thomas (Sherry) Warren and Robert Lowell (Susan) Warren; grandsons, Bradley Warren, Gerry Smith, John Bybee and Cody Bybee; granddaughters Jennifer Warren, Sydney Warren, great-grandaughter Cecil Emma Smith and many members of her extended family and lifelong friends.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to those who cared for Mrs. Warren during the last years of her life, including the doctors and staff of Alive Hospice and her loving daily caregivers, especially Annette Lipsett, for her steadfast and loyal devotion. The family also extends their gratitude to Bernadette Tinney, Maria McGowan and Brenda Sweat for their love and compassion.
Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at one o’clock in the afternoon, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Brother Paul Wampler officiating. Gathering of family and friends will be from eleven o’clock until the service time on Saturday at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Bradley Warren, Ricky Warren, Jimmy Warren, Clay Gaines, John Bybee and Dennis Johnson.
Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
