Edna "Ande" Gerth Nickell

Ms. Edna “Ande” Gerth Nickell age 71, of Nashville, TN, passed away August 1, 2015. Ms. Nickell was born in Memphis, TN, on November 10, 1943, the daughter of the late Albert Gerth and Mildred Francis Gerth. She started college at Middle Tennessee State University and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Trevecca Nazerene University. Ms. Nickell received her Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. She worked many years with Harveys Department Store, First American Bank, and with FiftyForward Knowles Senior Citizens Center. Ms. Nickell was very active with West End United Methodist Church and loved helping with the children’s program. She enjoyed traveling with West End High School Lunch Bunch Group. In addition to her parents, Ms. Nickell was preceded in death by a brother, Gailor Gerth. Survivors include various cousins and her cat, “Katie Emily.” A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at two o’clock in the afternoon, West End United Methodist Church. Gathering of Family & Friends will be Wednesday from one o’clock until the service hour, West End United Methodist Church.
