

Edward Joseph (Big Ed) Lambert was born March 14, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Mabel Acorn Lambert. He died on November 4, 2024, and is predeceased by his parents, brothers Joseph and Robert Lambert, and infant son Edward Francis Lambert. Survived by wife of 65 years, Mary Margaret Formosa Lambert, sons Edward Joseph, Jr. (Michele Baier), Charles Anthony, and Dominic Formosa (Sonya), grandsons Matthew, Dominic, Nolan, granddaughters Sarah, Emma and their mother, Leslie Forsley, bonus granddaughters Katie (Chad) Sullivan and Sarah (Matt) Romeo, brother- in- law Joseph (Debbie) Formosa, III, and nieces Lorrie Eicher, Jennifer Parks, and Lindsey O’Dell.
He attended St. Ephram’s School in Brooklyn before moving to Nashville in 1953 with his older brother, Joe. A graduate of the class of 1957 of Father Ryan High School where he played varsity football, he also played football on a scholarship from Vanderbilt University in 1957-58. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ed was manager of Allied Bearings before becoming district sales manager for Consolidated Bearings for twelve years. He became chief court officer for Metro Criminal Court, Division II in 1992 and served as Grand Jury Coordinator for Honorable J. Randall Wyatt until he retired in 2005. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Commodore fan and extraordinary friend to all who knew him.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6401 Harding Road, Nashville, Tennessee, and funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Henry with interment at 2:45 at Calvary cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Father Ryan High School class of 1957, Criminal Court Division II, Honorable J. Randall Wyatt, Alan Lancaster, James A. Curley, and David Kuhlman.
