Survived by husband Bryan Hudgins, son Jack Hudgins, parents Richard and Florence Davis and brother Alex Davis.
Born and raised in Nashville, educated at the University of Tennessee, Eileen was a true Southern girl. Embracing Southern cooking and Southern writing, she excelled at both. She loved delighting her family with both modern recipes and those from Tennessee's past, and her moving fiction showed her deep love for our region's pioneer past.
Eileen was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Her generosity, intelligence, and quick wit will be missed by all.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home.
