Ellen Eichenberger Dickinson

Ellen Eichenberger Dickinson age 92 of Nashville, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyd E. and Ruth C. Eichenberger; sisters, Rebecca E. Goodpasture and Polly E. Cowan. Surviving is one son, Cason A. Dickinson of Nashville. Mrs. Dickinson was a retired educator having taught for thirty-one years at Peabody Demonstration School/University School of Nashville. Whether supervising Peabody College Student Teachers, or teaching First Graders, “Ms. D,” as she was affectionately known, enjoyed her chosen career. Her leadership skills were noted in various capacities during her time at Peabody College/ Peabody Demonstration School/University School of Nashville. Having served as President of the Peabody Women’s Club; President of the PDS Faculty Organization; USN Board of Directors member; or Chairman of numerous committees, it is her former students and their parents who recall the special holiday events they enjoyed and their participation in classroom musical presentations. Mrs. Dickinson was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators. She served in leadership positions on the Chapter, State, Regional, and International levels. Mrs. Dickinson was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Franklin, Tennessee. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Monday, March 9, 2020 from ten thirty until eleven thirty at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at eleven thirty in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Pastor Christopher Joiner from First Presbyterian Church of Franklin officiating.
