Mr. Capps is a WWII Navy veteran, seving in the Pacific; a member of Antioch Church of Christ, Teamsters 480 and he retired from Yellow Freight.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joy O’Guin Capps; daughter Vickie Capps (Johnny) Duke; son Gregory Wayne (Melissa) Capps; sisters Mae Workman and Margaret Enright; grandchildren Jonathan and Jacob (Danielle) Duke; Ashli Pope, Courtney Smotherman and Bethany Elliott; great-grandchildren Ali Lynn Pope and Colton Michael Smotherman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday February 16, 2011 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Dr. Johnny Duke officiating. Burial with Navy Honors in Woodlawn Memorial Park Garden of Ruth.
Serving as pallbearers: Greg Capps, Jacob Duke, Jonathan Duke, Charles Andrews, Bob Delozier, Don O'Guinn, Jr., Robert Frase and Dallas Pope.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Capps this evening, Tuesday February 15, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 in the Iris/Lily Room at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Nashville, TN.
