Emily Jane Hartman age 97 passed away on May 31, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Henry Carl Hartman, Jr and brother, Fred Bradford Young III. She is survived by her children, Ellen Hartman Roddy and Henry Carl (Bonnie Baer)Hartman III, grandchildren, Paul Victor Roddy, Emily Roddy (Bill) Magee, Jim Hinshaw and Julie Hinshaw (Tony) Pendergrast, great grandchildren, Iley Elizabeth Lorne, Ellen Ann Magee, Megan Emily Magee, Seth Gray Sands and Jazmyn N. Sands.
Emily was a 1968 Graduate of Peabody College in Nashville and was a teacher for the Nashville Metro School system for many years. She was very involved at West End Church of Christ where she was a longtime member. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and was a volunteer at Vanderbilt University and Cheekwood.
Graveside services will be held on Friday June 10, 2022 at 12 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
