Evan Owen Shaw

SHAW, Evan Owen. Born October 3, 1927 and passed away January 4, 2013. Owen fondly called Brigham City, Utah home, though he lived and worked in Nashville for over 40 years. He served with the 11th Airborne, Army of Occupation Japan, 1947. He was a graduate of Florida State University, 1952. He was an insurance executive with INA in Utah, Idaho, North Carolina and Tennessee. Married to Marilyn Stohl for 23 years, children, Juli Simon (David) of Windermere, Fl., Evan Shaw, Jr. (deceased), Tom Shaw (MaryBeth Trask ) of Nashville. He was "Grandpa" to Tommy Simon, Jay Simon, Seth Shaw and Morgan Shaw. Great-grandchildren Jacob and Isabella Simon. His sister, Grettle Haglund survives him. Brother R.T. Shaw, sisters Betty Bickmore, Mary Jeanne Baron, and Barbara Clayton pre-deceased Owen. He was a big presence in many lives, and will be greatly missed. A memorial reception will be held at the Woodmont Hills Family of God (Choir Room) 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th (Children welcome) 3710 Franklin Road, Nashville, TN 37204. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Brigham City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caring Ministry at Woodmont Hills; Owen appreciated the help he received after the 2010 flood.
