Evelyn Raines Clark

Evelyn Raines Clark, age 92, of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2023. She was born on May 9, 1930 in Cullman, Ala. to the late William Auzie Raines and Bertha Garrison. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James William Clark and Siblings, Clarence Raines and Max Raines. Evelyn is survived by daughter, Patricia Eggers, son, Randy (Debbie) Clark, Ronnie (Melody) Clark; grandchildren, Eleanor Reynolds, Robert Eggers, Brett Clark, Ryan Clark, Travis Clark; great-grandchildren, Shelby Clark, Emma Clark, Camdyn Clark and James Reynolds; nieces and nephews, Delores Raines, Robbie Remole, Charles Raines, David Raines, Carole Raines (Rusty) Rhea. Evelyn moved to Nashville, TN at age 14 where she went to Cavert School and then to West High School. She met James William Clark at Nashville First Baptist Church and they were married for 70 years. Evelyn loved to cook, travel, go to her lake house and entertain. During her young married years, she was a Patrol Mother for Metro Schools and then decided to babysit in her home. She loved babies and worked in the nursery at Nashville First Baptist Church for 20 years. She enjoyed several ministry opportunities at Nashville First especially the Meals on Wheels program. She looked forward each week taking the participants their meals and visiting with them. Evelyn loved her Lord, her family and her church. A Gathering of Family and Friends for Evelyn will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Next Door, 402 22nd Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37203.
