

SPITZER ,Gene Fay- born July 17, 1947, age 65, passed away suddenly while at home, in Nashville, with his wife of almost 37 years, Verna Annette Spitzer. His wife's two sisters, Eula Faye Gregg and Ruby Jean Kraus, were visiting and attempted CPR until the paramedics arrived. Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Odice Fay and Mary Margarette Spitzer, his brother, Michael Spitzer of Memphis, and a grandson, who lived only weeks from his birth. Gene is survived by his wife Annette, a daugter, Dawn (Chack) Spitzer Chanchampa of Smyrna, a son, Phillip Reece Spitzer, age 22, currently a student at UT in Chattanooga. Gene is also survived by two grandsons, Jarred Adam Bredesen, age 14, and Ethan Chack Chanchampa, nearly two years of age. Gene earned an Engineering Degree from Northern Illinois University. He taught High School Shop in the Ozarks for four years before moving to Nashville to join a welding engineering company for a few years and then starting his own business, Process Welding Systems, Inc. of Nashville. Gene sold his company and was enjoying retirement before moving in with the Lord. The family will receive friends from three until six o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 23rd of June, 2013 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven thirty in the morning on Tuesday, the 25th of June, 2013 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with visitation held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Thursday, 27th of June, 2013 at Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery on McCrory Lane in Nashville, TN.
